In my humble opinion the weekend training sessions got off to a good start with a loop that encompassed Llangorse, Pengenffordd and Crickhowell. Which is almost, but not quite, like this route. A total of 34 miles which is impressive if only for the fact that snow, ice and consistently negative temperatures didn't lead to the cancellation of the event and the instigation of the usual secondary plan of a warm pub and cycling chat. Tuesdays ride could be more interesting with heavy snow forecast to arrive overnight and into Wednesday morning. My feeling is lets do it anyway and, if it's really bad, pull out the mountain bikes instead. Hey, what would Armstrong do? Probably carry out the training plan but do another 30 miles on top and do it all again if 'it doesn't feel right'!
So, Tuesday nights need to be a little longer, maybe 25 miles? If we dropped down to Crick and came back on the back road it should just about do it! What think you.....? And we need a plan for Saturday! Any ideas?
